Are the ducks in mourning?

With no signs and symptoms showing yesterday, Jeremy was saddened to find one Apricot Call Duck lifeless in the duck house this morning. Females are more likely to die prematurely than the drakes and we lost another female two years ago in a similar way. Both are now buried in the poultry cemetery which is under vines in the vineyard. A healthy call duck could live as long as 10 years but the stress of egg production reduces the lifespan of the females and raising ducklings might also take its toll.
