For some of my international friends The Archers is an everyday story of country folk that has been broadcast every weekday ( and now on Sundays) on BBC Radio for 67 years. I first became addicted to the series when I lived in Devon 40 years ago. For the past few months Tom Archer has been trying to promote flavoured Kefir to sell in his sister Helen’s health food shop. It has not been a great success with poor marketing! Today my lovely friend called in with a jar of kefir which I will have to keep fed with whole milk and change it’s milk every 24 hours. When I lived in Devon I had a live yoghurt culture which I looked after in a similar way and I always needed to find friends to take some of the growing culture. My friend has a beautiful face and glowing skin so I will have to pinch my nose and down my daily dose of kefir milk and maybe it will make me a fraction as lovely as her.
