I have begun to sort through and clean five storage boxes full of elephants that used to line the shelves of our office in London. Since my retirement from the office and Jeremy’s move to a new outfit the elephants have been stored in cardboard boxes in a damp Victorian vault, accumulating dust and feeling sorry for themselves. It was exciting to empty two of the boxes this evening and to dust them off, wash them down and get them ready for future display in the barn. Mabel and Nigel are not sure what to make of the exotic creature drying out in front of the wood burner.
