Yesterday afternoon I took a tiny bandage and some micropore tape out to the Silkie run and tried to dress Mrs Silkie’s bleeding toe. The bandage wouldn’t stay in place so I’m wrapped some micropore around her damaged digit and it seemed to stick.

This morning the tape is still in place and Mrs Silkie came out of the nest box to peck at the handful of corn that I scattered in the hen house. I will keep her in for a couple of days until the toe is dry and healing.

I was going to suggest Cicatrin powder. Very useful for sealing up and sterilising wounded toes on English Bull Terriers – and Silkies?
