There is a large, strong, horse chestnut tree by the back gate.  Each year it is full of conkers whose green outer casing falls to the ground and leaves brown, shiny conkers all over the grass and paving stones.

But do 21st Century schoolchildren even know about the game of conkers or maybe they have apps on their iPhones and tablets?What a pity and what a waste of these splendid specimens.
