Grandson and I went Wednesday walking in the village. A packet of sweets was the sweetener for walking with grandma and her pals and certainly helped grandson’s mood. Before the walk we watered the pots and plants around the garden. An 8 year old with a hose can be quite a lot of fun……and did he really “water grandma ” by accident? Grandson and I decided to cut short the walk and to pop in to see friends in the village. Unexpectedly they still have a trampoline in their garden and grandson was delighted to be able to bounce around until their large (but gentle) dog climbed up on the bouncer with him and grandson was down like a shot.

It was a special day at my friend’s home. The 10 year old hen, Bloomer, laid an egg. Pretty impressive for such a very old bird and it is her owner’s birthday today. What a thoughtful gift.

When we returned home grandpa Jeremy took grandson into the garden to pick courgettes and tomatoes and green peppers. He then made three delicious vegetable omelettes. What she will do this afternoon?
