Yesterday I held the ladder and Jeremy climbed up to pick the damsons from the tall tree by the gate.


This morning I sat in the sunshine and slit the plums, removed the stones and discarded any damaged fruits. Then it was into the preserving pan to simmer with some water and then add the sugar.


Then the rich red mixture was boiled and stirred until setting point was reached and then bottled and sealed and ready to be labelled.
