There are two Victoria plum trees and this year both of them are heavy, heavy, heavy with large green fruits that will soon begin to turn. The larger tree has boughs that are bent over by the weight of the fruit, nearly touching the ground, when I opened the chickens up this morning I saw that the tree next to their polytunnel had plums right on the earth. The weight of the fruit had sheared off the branch and the chickens were enjoying pecking at the plums.

I brought get an armload of fruit into the kitchen (not the pecked plums!) and consulted Dr Google. They should ripen in a bowl or inside a paper bag (who has paper bags these days?). I will let you know.
