It’s been a good year for………agapanthus

When the plants flower they remind me of A and J’s wedding where the canopy under which they were married was surrounded by luscious agapanthus plants.  The bride’s mother insisted that Jeremy and I take some of the plants home at the end of the party.  We did and they were planted in our London garden where they did well for many years.  We subdivided them and they multiplied.  When we left for The Gables some of the plants came with us and now we have them at the side of the pergola and at the back of the house.  I save the seeds and this year have some seedlings in pots in the greenhouse.  This morning I was sitting under the pergola comparing notes on the flowers with the bride’s  mum, Joy, as we caught up with news by telephone.  I looked over and found a “comma butterfly” sunning itself on a flower.  Good choice.
