Ducks moving, Goose sitting

We moved mother duck and her two ducklings to a larger, open air run.  We also carried their house into the run so that they have a safe place to sleep at night, closed in with food and water.  Mother duck is still fiercely protective of her brood even though they are growing fast and their yellow down is being shed and adult feathers taking its place.

Down by the pond one of the geese has been sitting in the dense undergrowth for nearly three weeks.  Sitting on precious eggs to keep them safe from the predatory crows.  All our efforts, last year, to thwart the corvids came to nothing and we are yet to see goslings hatch at The Gables.  We will have to wait 35 days in total to see if the goose knows what she is doing.  21 days gone and 14 to go.  Fingers crossed and crows permitting.
