Ladies who lunch…..well, sort of

Last year we offered our Jacob fleeces free to spinners around the area and several people emailed to take advantage of the wool.  This year Jeremy contacted the nearest of the spinners who lives outside Cambridge and is a member of the Rampton Spinners Guild.  She is a delightful woman and we all just “clicked” when we met twelve months ago so I was pleased to offer her all the fleeces and she offered to bring lunch here to The Gables so that we could sit and natter.  I refused her food as we are trying to use all the produce that is coming out of the garden but I was more than happy to while away a few hours in the spirit of “ladies who lunch”.

And Josie made another new friend.

Apparently these are very good quality fleeces and the wool has an excellent crimp which makes a bouncy yarn, full of life.  Well done our sheep!
