Don’t rain on my party!….and tales from the city.

After weeks of blazing sunshine the rain has decided to fall on the night of my midsummer party.  Hey ho…..the best laid plans of mice and men and me.  So we have put up the tables in the barn and we will celebrate midsummer come rain or shine.

This morning at 6.30 son phoned to tell me that he had the police outside his house.  They had awoken to the sound of explosions in the street but in fact it was a Range Rover ploughing into several parked cars in their residential road.  The driver and his passengers were the worse for wear after an allnighter (possibly) and amongst the cars they wrote off were son and daughter in law’s carriage. No one was hurt, thankfully, except for one of the female passengers in the offending four by four who had a gash on her head.  Son and family have just moved to their new home and last week they found themselves around the corner from the mayhem at Finsbury Park mosque.  They have chosen a lively part of town in which to live.
