Tortoiseshell duck and the two tiny ducklings survived the move to a safer home yesterday. More importantly they got through the night and are looking more lively this morning. I think Mrs Duck has abandoned the rest of the clutch but two healthy birds in the hand are more valuable than a nest of eggs.

You’re right about two birds being more valuable – in fact, I’d say your successfully moving them proves the adage that even just one is worth more than two in the bush!
