Mrs Silkie is a protective and attentive mother (I have the “pecked” finger to prove it) and her two chicks are growing well.

At the top of the hen house in the polytunnel the two Banties have been sitting on 14 eggs for quite some time.  Two of them hatched a few days ago and the mothers are quite happy to share them.  However, they refuse to get up off the remaining eggs even though it is unlikely that they will hatch.  Maybe they know something that we do not.
