The guests, who arrive tomorrow, know that they will be fed vegetarian cuisine. What they do NOT know is that this weekend marks the beginnng of veggan cuisine at The Gables. That’s right NOT vegan cuisine (which precludes using eggs) but VEGGAN cuisine which allows the use of cruelty free eggs – which ours certainly are. Our hens live in the lap of luxury, we do not kill the male birds and they have a wonderfully rich and varied diet. The menu for Friday night is Lentil Soup,

followed by pasta with a homemade tomato sauce (using our own tomatoes that we froze last summer),

Bean casserole, potato kugel and two kinds of salad followed by rhubarb crumble. Most of the produce is he me grown and freshly picked. I don’t think that anyone will go hungry and they might not even notice th absence of cheese from their meal. I will let you know.
Yum Frank says how do you stop the cocks killing each other as is their instinct…. Xx
