At 7.00 am we were outside pulling rhubarb from the far patch and filling a box to distribute to friends and family.  jeremy pulled the stalks, I trimmed them and then put the leaves in the trench around the near rhubarb patch to suppress the weeds.  Around The Gables (and with plenty of enriching winter cow manure) the rhubarb grows like Topsy.  I will be making rhubarb crumble for our 30 guests next weekend.
