These were, reputedly, the inspirational words in the last sermon given by the Patron Saint of Wales, St David, who died on March 1st 589 AD. And on the anniversary of his death many people in Wales pin a daffodil or a leek to their clothes. Here at The Gables the daffodils are beginning to open and we will soon have hundreds of the yellow flowers showing along the paths, around the trees and in the borders. The overwintered leeks are growing again and I will dig some up this afternoon to turn into a tasty soup. Springtime -when “doing the little things” can bring ourselves and others a great deal of pleasure and renewed hope for better times to come.

Nicely said Gill! And my fingers are crossed for your little Dartmoor lamb..
