As the group set off around the frozen lake some of the swans were in the water and other birds were walking on the ice.

After 2 or 3 miles we stopped for coffee at The Swan Hotel opposite the embankment in Bedford.  I didn’t stay for refreshments so walked back along the river and crossed back into the Park taking photographs of the water and birds beside and  on top of the bridge.
