Separate but equal

A few days ago there was an “incident” in the poly tunnel.  The young Silkie cockerels set upon the old Silkie cock and bloodied him.  Jeremy moved him and the remaining Silkie hen to the old Bantie house and run where they are happily living together and even producing tiny Silkie eggs.

Inside the warm and airy poly tunnel the birds are laying from early morning until late afternoon.  When I went in to scatter corn this morning there was a beautiful, brown egg waiting for me.  Thank you birds.
