Lucy looks large and heavy and by our calculations she could calve as early as next weekend.  Beattie is smaller and may be a few weeks behind her sister.  In preparation we have moved the girls into the paddock at the back of the house where they have a water trough and a barn and even a climbing frame with swings.  We hope that they will calve without any help from us but we have to be ready just in case. As we have 20 guests arriving on Friday we hope that their timing will not interfere with the schedule for our friends. I have told them to bring “rubber gloves” in case the cows need their help!
