At the end of the summer Peter H… came to The Gables with his “digger” and dug a pond in the field which we hoped would fill with rainwater and run off land water.  It stayed dry for weeks and weeks.  Now it is beginning to rain with a vengeance and the pond is slowly beginning to fill. When it is full we will build some new duck housing and give the ducks a pond all for themselves.

In the barn we have put two mobile gas supersers so that we can take the edge off the chill without resorting to non stop oil consumption.  They seem a bit small to do the job but we will see what the Tai Chi class thinks this morning.
