My daily constitutional in the rain

I take a “four sided” walk nearly every day through the winter months.  I walk along Mill Road, turn right down Channels End and then right again on a footpath that traverses a large field, exits through a gap in the hedge and thereafter continues on a bridleway.  At the end of the grass track I turn right onto Wilden Road and either come into The Gables through an entrance in a neighbour’s field and climb over a stile into our  paddock or I carry on along the road and enter through the side gate.  Today it was raining steadily all the way but even under grey skies, and in the damp, my daily walk clears my head and reminds me how lucky I am to have the time to enjoy this “green and pleasant” (and muddy) landscape.
