Three weeks after Halloween and any remaining pumpkins are over ripe and unwanted in the shops.  Our local animal feed and general supplies store, in Little Staughton, offered Jeremy several of them to cut up for the chickens when he went to buy more poultry pellets on Friday.  The Silkies have made short work of their share.

The new Marans have even pecked holes through the skin.

And the dear little Bantams are trying their best to eat their way through the large chunks of pumpkin, but it might take them another week or so!
