Goose on the loose

As I set off down the orchard to feed the geese on this cold and sunny morning, I saw one of the geese wandering up and down the vegetable plot.  She had spread her wings and taken off over the fencing and separated herself from the gander and her two sisters (I use the term to mean “sisterhood” as one of the females is not related to the other two).  I had to open the vineyard gate and herd her back to her honking family who waited for her before joining me for their morning feed of pellets.  All is calm again on goose island.
