Nowhere more beautiful ……

England in autumn is a glorious place to be and we took advantage of the weather to extend our Wednesday walk. The cut fields with golden stubble, ploughed fields of rich dark earth and newly sown winter wheat (or could be barley) glowed under the bright sunshine.  On the home stretch Heather and I strode ahead and to our right we were accompanied by a graceful barn owl that alighted on the ground, too far away to photograph with my iphone.  Then it took off again and around the bend flying low until it lifted itself above the trees and out of sight.  What could be more glorious?
