Bill Mollison, the founder of the permaculture system of growing, died at the end of September and last week I read his obituary in The Guardian. In the editorial he is quoted as saying “there is no such thing as a slug problem, you just haven’t got enough ducks” (I quote loosely from my senior citizen memory). I can tell you from our own experience that we do not have a slug problem, use no slug pellets and regularly let the ducks out of their runs to roam around the garden…….digging for and eating slugs. Hence no slug problem.
