Towards the end of our Wednesday walk (which had been accompanied by the site of red kites wheeling in the clear blue skies above the village) we met Daisy May and her owner. Daisy has cataracts and is nearly blind but she is otherwise in good health, much loved and very friendly. A cataract operation would cost £1000 and there is no guarantee that she will regain her sight so she will carry on being loved and spoiled by her owners as her eyes cloud over.
