We have been watching the red cabbages grow and grow and this afternoon Jeremy cut the largest of them for me to cook. After removing the outer leaves (and giving them to Lucy and Beattie as a teatime treat) I weighed the monster and it was nearly ten pounds in weight. It took some time to wash it and chop it and cook it and now it is dressed with peanuts and covered in a cheese sauce and ready to put in the oven (and the freezer). Plenty more cabbages outside.
