The five “rescue” hens that came to stay for five days, have just been collected and gone home to their new owners.  These beautiful, if slightly featherless, birds were rescued by the Wood Green Animal Shelter from a life behind bars in cages.  They mixed well with the other birds, went to bed when asked and were delighted to peck at corn scattered in the orchard.  Free birds, recovering well and laying glossy, copper coloured eggs.  Enjoy your freedom.
