The Bramley apple tree is heavy with fruit and the weight of the apples has brought the boughs low.  We have to negotiate the tree as we go into and out of the poultry run and we are used to ducking to avoid being hit by large apples.  The cows enjoy the windfalls and I saved some of the larger ones for us to stew with some sugar for a simple yet delicious dessert.
