Beetroots, marrow, courgettes, onions, red cabbage and two tubs of raspberries and blackcurrants went into a box that Eve put into the car to take to Scotland. She tried to persuade me to use the courgette flowers by stuffing them with rice and cooking in the oven but I am not persuaded that the result will be worth the effort!

Although the car is fairly spacious the front seat is occupied by a large companion and his small friend.

He is leaving London and going to live with Eve and Chris in Stirling.
