Usually my preferred gardening role is to weed, to pick fruit and veg and to provide a second pair of hands when Jeremy needs some help. A month ago I bought some seeds at The Colmworth Village Garden party and these included two packets of carrot seeds. I asked advice from Jeremy and he suggested I prepare a tub with sifted soil, sow thinly and cover with a layer of compost and remember to water regularly. The first pot began to sprout and I was so encouraged (and thrilled) that I decided to plant a second tub. You can see the rather perplexing results. My mentor has suggested I sacrifice the pink tub and start again with a fresh sowing of carrot seeds. Ok.

Carrot orange SO clashes with the pink……
