All together now

At last all the sheep and lambs are in the paddock.  Jeremy moved them ( with a bit of help from yours truly) just as the heavens opened late afternoon and we all got soaked – sheep and humans alike.  There was one ewe lamb who needed to be separated, dragged and sprayed as she had shown signs of blow fly.  We caught it early but we got very mucky in the process and our clothes are spinning around in the washing machine as I type.

Iggle, who had been calling to the other sheep on a daily basis, is now a bit shocked to find herself surrounded by a flock of strangers and Ig, Pig and Wig are sticking close together.  The other sheep can’t understand why those three lambs run up to me for “cuddles” and they are edging closer to see if they want some of the same attention.  All this movement is preparation for the selling and moving of the lambs next week.  It’s tough but it’s the reality of cattle and sheep breeding.  They have to move on and for some of them this means onto your plates!
