The recent downpours have helped the grass to grow, the onions to swell, the lillies to grow and the lambs to grow fat. As well as these wonderful sights this morning, I heard
the increasingly rare and unmistakeable song of a cuckoo ringing out from the direction of the pond. I doubt that I will ever catch sight of this “red status” summer visitor but the song was enough to lift my spirits as I battle with a summer cold.
