A welcome break from cooking

Our friend and neighbour brought his grandson over to meet the lambs.  I was glad to have an excuse to step outside of the kitchen as the weekend cooking countdown begins.

Back at the kitchen Jeremy delivered me the first of the newly pulled white onions and some strongly scented shallots and the very last of the leeks.  Time to make vichyssoise soup to eat cold with a swirl of cream and freshly chopped chives.
