Before we start harvesting this year’s fruit.  A good way is to bake some jam tarts (and why not bake some chocolate chip cookies since the oven is hot) and offer them to our lunch and tea guests later.  Looking forward to showing everyone around The Gables – not really a farm, but a smallholding, but for our London visitors today it will be our version of “Open Farm Sunday”.  Apparently about 400 farms will open their gates to the public today to show adults and children how their food and meat and milk is produced.
