Celery “bones”!

The one but last of the celery that overwintered in the polytunnel came out yesterday. The stems are too tough to eat even after being boiled in a soup with leeks and onion and potato,  but the flavour (probably like meat or chicken bones….but how would this vegetarian know?) is wonderful.  I cooked them in the soup and then removed them and put them on the compost heap.
