After a morning digging up thistles in the vineyard (watched by the geese who were safely on the other side of the fence) I forgot to close the gate behind me and the geese wandered into the vegetable garden.  As they mainly eat grass it isn’t  a disaster but I had to brandish a stick to round them up and send them back to the pond.

Back in the kitchen I looked out and saw Mabel sitting on a mat that was hanging outside to dry and in the background the ducks were waddling (as they do) and the blue tits were flying endlessly into and out of the bird box  trying to keep the nestlings satisfied.
