The last two fleeces were collected by Helen and daughter Rachel this afternoon.  Helen has just started “felting” and makes 3D figures with the wool.  She didn’t want to come in for a cuppa as daughter was in their car with two pets (Meeko and Teddy) on her lap,  two of the twelve ferrets that they care for.  We went to meet the ferrets who were on leads and then we all went to visit the sheep and the lambs.  It seems that ferrets have been domesticated for 2000 years and there are portraits of Queen Elizabeth 1st with her pet white ferret.  I don’t think you will be seeing pet ferrets at The Gables but it was interesting to make their acquaintance.
