Mange Tout in the polytunnel

Weeks ahead of outdoor peas, the mange tout are beginning to flower and pod up in the polytunnel.  Jeremy lifted celery from the tunnel today and outdoor leeks so that I can make soup tomorrow for the visitors.  I write with a heavy heart having found myself today disenfranchised by the Labour Party and their inability to condemn the racist rants of Naz Shah.  I will stick my head in the sandy soil of Bedfordshire and try to find comfort in the bleating of lambs and the clucking  of chooks.  But my heart is truly heavy and tonight and I feel very sad.

  1. Sadly anti-Semitism has been on the increase for a number of years now. I read that many Jewish students are threatening to resign from NUS because of the new president’s past comments. We have to be constantly vigilant that we do not let casual racism creep into every day activity.
