A well kept secret along a wooded footpath. Unseen from the road and only open thanks to the efforts of Heather and the footpath group and Miguel, who persuaded the landowner to cut the track along the route…..the bluebell wood in all its glorious glory. Maria( who is not responsible for the ingress of the Spanish bluebell to this country nor, she tells me, for the Spanish Armada) explained that English bluebells have a scent and the Spanish ones do not. It wgas a two hour walk but simply breathtaking and right on our doorstep. Next week my visitors will be offered the chance of this special treat but they better bring their walking boots.
