This time last year the Call Ducks had already hatched several ducklings after sitting on their eggs for 28 days.  This year the ducks began to lay early but they have shown no inclination to sit. However one duck is now sitting in the duck house on ten eggs and I just hope they she will continue to follow her nesting instincts.

The hens are laying prodigiously with a variety of eggs from the tiny cream coloured Silkie egg to the large white Sussex and in between the milk chocolate coloured Banti eggs.  I just ate two eggs for my lunch and they were delicious.
