Instead a day for visiting the library, baking bread and making some new little duck houses to accommodate the ducks when they decide to go broody and sit on the eggs they are laying.  Last year we had two ducks a laying, this year there may be five or six.  It’s difficult to work out which are ducks and which are drakes and which duck is laying which eggs!  But when they eventually follow their broody instincts we will need to give them separate housing as they can become aggressive towards each other.
