When I looked out of the window this morning a red kite was sitting on the ground near the sheep and then rose to fly into trees opposite the back of the house. Later I spotted a kestrel in the small paddock which was sitting in the tree and then flew to sit on a fence post. Then as we went outside to repair the rails that the calves had damaged a buzzard flew quite low over our heads. The trees around the field and the strip of set aside around the perimeter of our land encourage rodents which provide food for the birds of prey. They are simply breathtaking. iPad photos don’t do them justice but later, when Jeremy has time, he will download and send me some shots of the kestrel that he took with the long lens on his camera.
