We were joined by a “new footpath walker” on our Wednesday walk. As we battled against the wind through the country park I noticed a pile of logs by the bridge and wondered who had been cutting the trees. He told me “that’s an insect hotel”. Apparently the logs attract a variety of insects, birds then feed on some of these insects and the country park increases the diversity of wildlife that come into the area. So book your rooms little wood lice.

We had a similar construction put up next to our local library made of wooden palettes – named, appropriately enough, ‘Bugingham Palatte’!
