Counting the cost of Storm Barney

With winds of 70 mph we were fortunate to escape power cuts here at The Gables but, as I walked around the property, there was evidence of the damage that Storm Barney had wrought here.  Most upsetting was the Bramley apple tree which was already propped up and tied to several stakes.  It is now at an even more precarious angle and I hope that it can be saved.  All animals fine and no damage to their many and various huts and houses and shelters.  We are grateful to escape the full form of Barney.

Below…..felt ripped from the garden shed roof.  A water butt blown ( water and all) off its base and along the ground.  A garden chair collapsed and neatly folded up by the gusts and the tree blown closer to the ground.
