Although the sun was shining, yesterday’s rain has made some of the paths muddy and more rain is predicted this afternoon.  The hedgerows are bursting with plump, glistening blackberries, glossy, red rosehips and small, purple sloes.  I still have a bottle of rosehip syrup that I made last year (it’s a fiddly process) but I might be tempted to make some more to ward off winter colds.
