Walking through the harvested fields today, on our Wednesday walk, we found several birds (pigeons, partridges?) lying on the ground.  They had been shot and left to rot on the ground.

 As I turned into The Gables it looked as though someone was drawing back the curtain across the sky to reveal a blue screen.  I hope the sky is clear tonight so that I can lie on the ground at midnight and view the predicted meteor shower.
