Walking along the footpaths we note the changes in the crops as small shoots become green seas of swaying barley and then turn yellow as the heads bend over ready for harvesting by the mammoth combines.  Soon the noise of the combine harvesters will be heard trundling up and down the fields working by day and often during the dry summer nights.
