Although the duckling is so tiny, it manages to hop around in the duck house whilst it’s mother chases it to try and keep it under control. They will stay shut up until the duckling begins to grow and starts to eat and drink. It’s a nerve wracking time. Meanwhile the goose is still sitting and I watched her use her long beak to gently turn her eggs yesterday before repositioning herself on them to keep them warm. The sheep look very round and may yet surprise us with lambs ( we first expected them in March!). They say that good things are worth waiting for ……like the Poundland lily that opened today and the delicious cucumbers that we have started to pick.
